"I've always been drawn to objects that feel good to hold. A smooth stone picked up on a walk. The worn edge of a favourite ring. There's something deeply human about reaching for a familiar texture - it's grounding in a way that's hard to explain but impossible to ignore.
I created Alonnu because I noticed that nobody was designing jewelry with this in mind. The shape of a piece, yes. The metal, the finish - of course. But the feeling of it between your fingers? That had never been the starting point.
Working from my studio in Vancouver, I design every piece around texture first. I ask: what does this feel like to touch? What does it feel like to wear for a whole day - at your desk, in a meeting, on a walk? The result is jewelry that functions the way I always wanted it to function: something you put on in the morning and find yourself returning to, the way you return to a good habit or a quiet room.
Alonnu began as a play on my last name, but it became something more - a word that carries the feeling of being fully present with yourself. That's what I want every piece to offer. Not an escape from your day, but a way of moving through it that feels entirely your own.
